Organic matcha from Kyushu, Japan

A quiet moment before the day begins

Sipspa matcha is stone-ground from first-harvest leaves grown in Kyushu, Japan. Each batch is certified organic, tested for radiation and pesticides, and shipped fresh so the colour, flavour and nutrients are at their peak when it reaches you.

Our process
Stone-ground in Kyushu, shipped fresh to you

Our matcha is shade-grown and handpicked in Kyushu, Japan, then stone-ground on granite mills at low speed. Slow grinding keeps the leaves cool, which preserves the vivid green colour, smooth flavour and natural nutrients.

We select only JAS-certified organic matcha that meets our standards for colour, aroma and taste. Tested for purity before it leaves Japan.

Why matcha?

A different kind of energy

Calm focus, real antioxidants and energy that builds. Made for daily rituals.

JAS certified

Organic, every batch

Less than 5% of Japanese tea farms are certified organic. We chose the harder path.

Whole leaf

Antioxidants you can taste

You drink the whole leaf. A serve has 2 to 3 times the catechins of brewed green tea.

Focus

Calm, clear attention

L-theanine and caffeine work together. Sustained focus without the jitters.

Slow release

Energy that builds

Half the caffeine of coffee, released gradually over hours. No spike, no crash.

Matcha 101

Common matcha questions, answered

What is matcha and how is it made?

Matcha is a fine, vibrant green tea powder made from the Tencha variety of the Camellia sinensis plant.

The plants are shaded for a few weeks before harvest, which deepens the colour and develops a sweeter, richer flavour. The leaves are then handpicked, steamed, dried and stone-ground into a fine powder.

What are the health benefits of matcha?

Matcha is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids. The main benefits include sustained focus, calm energy and a high dose of catechins like EGCG that support overall wellbeing.

The L-theanine in matcha pairs with caffeine to deliver mental clarity without the jitters or crash. For the full picture, read our detailed article on matcha health benefits.

How do you prepare matcha?

At its simplest, you need matcha powder, a bamboo whisk (chasen), a bowl (chawan) and hot water at around 80°C, not boiling.

Sift 2g of matcha into the bowl, add 70 to 80ml of water, and whisk briskly in a W or M motion until smooth and frothy. For a latte, top with steamed milk of your choice.

For the full guide, read how to prepare matcha three ways: thin tea, thick tea and matcha latte.

What are the different grades of matcha?

Two main grades: ceremonial and everyday (sometimes called culinary).

Ceremonial is the highest quality, made from the youngest leaves. Vivid green colour, smooth texture, naturally sweet. Traditionally enjoyed on its own with water.

Everyday grade is bolder and fuller-bodied. Built to hold its flavour in lattes, smoothies and baked goods.

Read more about the differences between the two grades.

Can I drink matcha every day?

Yes. Matcha works well as a daily ritual, whether as traditional tea, in a latte, blended into a smoothie, or used in baking.

Because of the caffeine content, moderation matters. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding and those sensitive to caffeine should generally limit themselves to one serve a day, ideally based on advice from their healthcare provider.

Choose high-quality, organic matcha to avoid pesticides. Sipspa matcha is JAS certified organic, vegan, gluten-free and lab tested for radiation.
