About the matcha

Sourced from Kyushu, Japan. JAS certified organic. Less than 5% of Japanese tea farms hold organic certification. With matcha, you consume the whole leaf as a fine powder, so what goes into the soil goes into you. Ours is grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilisers. Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. Lab-tested for pesticides and radiation.

What is included in the matcha tea set?

Six pieces: a 30g tin of our Ceremonial Grade Matcha, a glass matcha bowl with spout, a bamboo whisk (chasen), a bamboo scoop (chashaku), a ceramic whisk holder, and a stainless steel sieve.

Is the matcha in this set organic?

Yes. The Ceremonial Grade Matcha included is JAS certified organic, sourced from Kyushu, Japan. It is single-ingredient, with no sweeteners, flavourings, or additives.

Is this set good for beginners?

Yes. It includes every tool you need to prepare matcha the traditional way, with no extra purchases required. If you are new to matcha, our guide on how to make matcha walks through the steps.

Can I use this set to make matcha lattes?

You can whisk your matcha in the bowl and then pour it into a cup with steamed milk. The glass bowl has a spout designed for pouring. For lattes, our Everyday Matcha is a better flavour match than the Ceremonial Grade included in the set.

How do I care for the bamboo whisk?

Rinse the whisk under warm water after each use and reshape the prongs gently with your fingers. Do not use soap or a dishwasher. Store it on the whisk holder to help it keep its shape. A well-cared-for whisk lasts three to six months with daily use.
