Wholesale matcha for
Australian cafes and retailers
Certified organic. Sourced from Kyushu, supplying cafes across Australia. Two grades, 500g bags, sample available before you commit.
Why organic at this scale is rare
Less than 5% of Japanese tea farms
are certified organic. We chose the harder path.
Most wholesale matcha on the market is not organic. It can be 30 to 50% cheaper at the bag level for a reason. Organic matcha is harder to grow, harder to certify, and produces smaller yields per acre. The premium is real, and it sits at every stage of production.
The cultivation
Higher ground, no drift
Organic farms in Japan sit high on ridges and mountaintops, separated from conventional fields so rain does not carry pesticides into the soil. Smaller plots, slower growth, lower yields per hectare.
The cost
More expensive at every stage
Organic farming costs more in labour, soil management and certification. JAS auditing is annual. Lab testing for pesticides and radiation happens batch by batch. The price you pay reflects the cost of doing it properly.
The market
Customers pay more for organic
Australian organic shoppers spend 34% more per shop on average than non-organic shoppers. Cafes that call out "JAS organic" on the menu commonly charge $1 to $2 more per matcha latte than standard offerings.

Wholesale FAQ
Common questions about ordering
Why is your wholesale priced higher than non-organic alternatives?
Non-organic wholesale matcha can be 30 to 50% cheaper at the bag level because organic is harder to grow, certify and yield. Less than 5% of Japanese tea farms are JAS certified organic. Our farms sit high on ridges and mountaintops away from conventional drift, with smaller harvests, annual JAS auditing and lab testing on every batch.
Your customers also pay more for organic. Cafes that call out "JAS organic" on the menu commonly charge $1 to $2 more per latte. The wholesale premium is small relative to the menu premium it supports.
What is the minimum order?
One 500g bag. Add to cart directly for orders up to four bags. Five or more qualifies for volume pricing through the enquiry form.
How much margin can my cafe make per latte?
Iced matcha lattes sell for around $6 to $9.50 across Australian cafes. Hobart and Brisbane tend to sit at the lower end, Sydney and Melbourne at the higher end.
With our Everyday 500g, matcha cost per cup is $0.76. Add about $0.90 for milk, ice and cup. At an $8 sell price, margin is around $6.34 per latte (about 79%).
With our Ceremonial 500g, matcha cost is $1.46 per cup. All-in cost ~$2.36. At $8, margin is around $5.64 per latte (about 71%).
How does shipping work for wholesale?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight. Wholesale orders are not eligible for the free shipping that applies to retail orders.
Orders under 10 bags dispatch from Sydney within three business days. Larger orders may take longer depending on stock and packing requirements; we will confirm a dispatch date when you enquire.
How long does the matcha stay fresh?
Unopened bags: around 12 months. Once opened: best within four to six weeks for the fullest colour and flavour. Decant into smaller airtight containers and keep refrigerated.
Do you offer exclusivity in my area?
Not currently. We are growing our network of cafe and retail partners across Australia. If you have a specific partnership in mind, mention it in your enquiry.
What payment terms do you offer?
Orders placed through the website are paid at checkout. For volume orders placed through the enquiry form, we accept bank transfer or credit card, payable on invoice before dispatch.
Can I order 1kg bags or larger?
Our standard wholesale format is the 500g bag. For larger format orders, mention your volume in the enquiry form and we will respond within 2 business days.
