About the cultivar blend
Our Everyday Grade is a blend of three Japanese cultivars: Yutakamidori for body, Yabukita for balance and Asanoka for aroma. Each plays a role in why this matcha holds its flavour through milk, ice and other ingredients.
All three cultivars are shade-grown on organic farms in Kyushu, Japan. The shade period increases L-theanine content in the leaf, which is the amino acid behind matcha's calm, focused energy.
Everyday vs. Ceremonial: which one?
Both grades are JAS certified organic, single-origin Kyushu, and single-ingredient. The difference is in how they taste and how they are best used.
- Everyday Matcha has a fuller, bolder flavour that cuts through milk and ice. It is the better choice for lattes, iced matcha, smoothies, baking, and any drink where matcha is one of several ingredients.
- Ceremonial Grade Matcha is smoother, more delicate, and best whisked with water and drunk on its own. It is the traditional choice for a straight bowl of matcha.
If you drink matcha mostly as a latte or blended drink, start here. If you want a pure, whisked matcha experience, start with Ceremonial. Many of our customers keep both on hand.
Why organic matters
Less than 5% of tea farms in Japan are certified organic. Organic farms need to sit high on ridges and mountaintops, separated from conventional fields so rain does not carry pesticides into their soil. It is harder to grow, more expensive to produce and far less common.
We chose organic because matcha is different from other teas. You drink the whole leaf, ground to a fine powder. Nothing is steeped and discarded. What goes into the soil goes into you. Every batch is JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) certified organic. Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. Lab-tested for pesticides and radiation.
What you get
A 50g pouch, around 25 servings. Roughly a month of daily cups, depending on how strong you like it.
Ways to enjoy
Whisk it traditionally, blend it into a latte or shake it over ice. Everyday Matcha also works well in smoothie bowls, baking and homemade treats. For step-by-step preparation, see our guide on how to make matcha.
Pair it with a bamboo whisk for the best texture, or use a milk frother if you prefer the shortcut.
Health and matcha
Matcha is rich in catechin antioxidants (particularly EGCG) and contains L-theanine, an amino acid linked to reduced stress and improved focus. A 2g serving contains 60–70mg of caffeine, roughly two-thirds of a cup of coffee, released more gradually thanks to L-theanine. Read more about matcha and metabolic health.

Frequently asked questions
Is your matcha organic?
Yes. Every batch is JAS certified organic and lab-tested for pesticides and radiation. Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free.
Where is the matcha from?
Kyushu, in southern Japan. Shade-grown on JAS-certified organic farms.
What does your matcha taste like?
Full and rounded with a bold, robust finish. Slightly earthier and stronger than our ceremonial grade — built to hold its flavour through milk, ice and other ingredients.
How many servings are in a 50g pouch?
Around 25 serves using 2g per cup. Roughly a month of daily cups, depending on how strong you like it.
How do I prepare matcha?
Sift 2g into a bowl. Add 70–80ml of water heated to around 80°C (not boiling). Whisk briskly with a bamboo chasen in a W or M motion until a smooth, frothy layer forms. For a latte, top with steamed milk of your choice.
Can I make a latte with this?
Yes — Everyday Matcha was made with lattes and iced drinks in mind. The fuller body holds its flavour through milk and ice.
How should I store it and how long does it stay fresh?
Sealed, cold, and out of light — the fridge is ideal once opened. An opened pouch holds its colour, aroma, and clean flavour comfortably for two to three months. After that it does not spoil; it simply softens in colour and aroma over time.
How much caffeine is in matcha?
A typical serve contains around 60–70mg of caffeine. Unlike coffee, matcha also contains L-theanine — an amino acid that promotes calm, focused energy without the jitters or crash.
Is matcha safe during pregnancy?
Matcha contains caffeine, so it is best to consult your healthcare provider about your caffeine intake during pregnancy. Many practitioners suggest limiting caffeine to 200mg per day, which would allow for one to two serves of matcha.
